Anxiety Disorders

According to The National Institute of Mental Health, Anxiety Disorders are serious medical illnesses that affect approximately 40 million American adults.

Anxiety disorders interfere with a person’s ability to function socially, at home, at work, and cause considerable distress. Anxiety Disorders cause fear uncertainty. Unlike the relatively mild, brief anxiety caused by a stressful event, anxiety disorders last longer, at least 6 months, and are more intense than normal stress. Anxiety disorders commonly occur along with other mental or physical illnesses, including alcohol or substance abuse, which may mask anxiety symptoms or make them worse.
